Paradise Springs Winery

Paradise Springs Winery, est 2007, is located in the quaint town of Clifton, Virginia on a historic property just outside of Washington DC. The land was granted to the Kincheloe family in 1716. The winery grows varietals such as Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Tannat amongst a few others to create a diverse portfolio reflective of Virginia's terroir. Paradise Springs also has a winery operation located in Santa Barbara, California producing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah from Sta. Rita Hills AVA as well as Bordeaux varietals from Happy Canyon AVA.

Meet the winemaker:

Rob Cox

Rob Cox attended the University of Maryland’s Institute of Applied Agriculture concentrating on Agronomy. After finishing at Maryland, he pursued at career in golf course management having help build several golf courses throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Arriving in Virginia in 2001, he started to pursue his interest in wine by working at a Virginia winery while beginning the UC Davis extension winemaking certificate program. He is one of a few who has cut his teeth in Virginia, having worked with several wineries throughout the state for the past 25 years. Rob has been the Director of Winemaking full-time at Paradise Springs since 2010.
